I grew up in Pennsylvania. We had a huge garden with tons of fresh veggies that I completely refused to appreciate at the time (being the Cheif Weeder, I developed a distinct antipathy to the whole thing). I moved to Massachusetts to go to college. After graduating, I stayed here and entered the world of Software development. I got laid off and went to culinary school and learned about the differences between regional cuisines. And right about that time, I started to realize that the best food I had ever had really was the stuff we grew in that *!@# garden. And then my wife and I started having kids and the whole issue of food suddenly became much more than just: What do I want to eat? It became: What's good for my kids? Now, I belong to a local CSA, go to a local Farmer's Market, and have co-opted some of my in-laws' yard to try and grow some food.
